As of February of 2022, the borders of Australia have been opened to tourists and entrepreneurs alike. Since the 18th of April, travellers who are fully vaccinated no longer need to be tested for COVID-19 before departure. Visas are necessary if you plan on travelling to Australia.
How to Apply for an Australian Visa Hassle-free?
Whether you’re travelling for leisure or business, an Australia visa must be obtained, ahead of time. An eVisitor visa will suffice. This 12-month e-visa allows you to travel to Australia at any point during this period. However, the catch here is that you can only stay for three months at a stretch.
What is the vaccination requirement for travelling to Australia?
Vaccinated travellers may now visit Australia without needing to seek a travel exemption. You are considered vaccinated if you have had two COVID-19 vaccines, and the date of the second vaccine is around seven days before arrival.
It is sufficient to get one dose of the vaccine if you have already had the Janssen shot. You must carry your vaccination certificate with you. Vaccination certificates given by a national or provincial government are also acceptable proof of vaccination.
There is no vaccination requirement for children under the age of 12 to visit Australia. However, the rules vary by province. If you’re travelling with a minor, it’s a good idea to check in with the provincial administration of the destination. Travel exemptions are not required for those who are unable to get vaccinations for medical reasons. You must present a medical certificate in this scenario, stating the cause.
What is Digital Passenger Declaration?
A Digital Passenger Declaration must be completed at least 72 hours before departure by anybody flying to Australia. It must include the following:
- Your contact information, including an Australian phone number
- Your vaccination status
- A list of the countries you’ve visited in the last 14 days
- A statement stating you know and adhere to all the norms of COVID-19 requirements for your journey to Australia.
If you’ve already applied for your visa, you’ll find instructions on how to complete the declaration on the application’s status page. It is required to provide a digital or paper copy of your declaration upon arrival, once you have completed the declaration.
After submitting the passenger declaration, it can’t be modified. A fresh declaration must be submitted, if your flight information has changed or if you have made a mistake.
After arrival in Australia!
You may enter Australia if you satisfy the requirements for travel to Australia. Depending on where you’re going, you may have to follow a separate set of corona regulations. Since provincial measures for foreign travellers might change at any time, it is recommended that you stay up to speed with the regulations in the regions where you plan on travelling.
